Mountaineering Society “Platani”
The Mountaineering Society “Platani” was founded in 2007, with the aim of promoting mountaineering as a recreational activity for young people, offering educational content about nature along with the challenge of exploring some of the most attractive mountain locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the surrounding region. The society primarily operates in the north-eastern part of Mount Majevica. It owns the “9th January” mountain lodge, built in 2015, at an altitude of 96 metres above sea level.
In addition to accommodation services, the association offers:
- restaurant / kitchen
- sports grounds
- children’s playgrounds
- stage
- climbing trail
- numerous hiking trails near the lodge (circular routes of 4.5 km and 14 km)
