The Fountain of Youth

The Fountain of Youth was built in 1963 by Sead Ekmečić, a renowned sculptor from Brčko. The sculpture depicts a boy and a girl holding the tail of a fish, symbolically representing the connection between Brčko and its residents with the Sava River.

The fountain is located in the city centre, at Youth Square, and today stands as one of the city’s symbols.

The Ekmečić family also founded and donated to Brčko the “Ekmečić Legacy”, a collection featuring a rich selection of paintings and other works of art by both local and international artists.
