The museum collection “Neolit” (Neolithic) was created as a result of a love for timeless values (collecting) nurtured by several generations of the Ćirković family, who around 1820 migrated from Pljevlja in Montenegro to the Brđani clan area. They brought with them a culture of preserving and cherishing both tangible and intangible traditions of their ancestors — such as the family saint celebration (krsna slava) and other customs — as well as material artifacts that were dear to them.

Milorad Ćirković, a graphic engineer, professor, and journalist — their descendant — enriched the collection through his creative efforts with hundreds of new artifacts, gifts from neighbors, relatives, and friends, forming an impressive collection that preserves the memory of tradition and the cultural identity of the podmajevica and Posavina regions.
