The Fountain of Youth was built in 1963 by Sead Ekmečić, a renowned sculptor from Brčko. The sculpture features a boy and a girl holding the tail of a fish, symbolizing the connection between Brčko and its people with the Sava River. The fountain is located in the city center, at Youth Square (Trg Mladih), and today it stands as a symbol of the city.

The Ekmečić family established and donated to Brčko a foundation called the “Ekmečić Legacy,” which holds a rich collection of paintings and other artworks by both local and international artists.
