Eco Team Fazanerija

Over the past three years, from its beginnings as an informal group of citizens to its registration as the environmental association EKO TIM FAZANERIJA, the members have gathered extensive material. Their efforts to combat illegal waste disposal sites and unauthorised deforestation, which had devastated Fazanerija, have produced results. They have managed to stop a significant part of these illegal activities. In order to prevent further negative impacts, they have decided to use part of the Fazanerija area to create a mobile recreational centre with a diverse range of facilities. Their goal is to attract as many visitors as possible, especially children, in order to preserve this area. In addition, they are working on revitalising Fazanerija as a beautiful nature park, which is planned to include a zoo, an adventure park, landscaped recreational areas and renewable energy sources. They also plan to find an investor for the restoration of the motel, which currently stands abandoned but holds emotional value for many people. Furthermore, they aim to revitalise the incubator for the artificial breeding of pheasants, which is currently in poor condition, offering part of the production to the market while releasing the remaining birds into the wild. Fazanerija is classified as a protected area of special importance for the Brčko District. However, there is concern that this status could be lost if appropriate measures are not taken.
