Brčko District Day

Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a specific and unique community of local self-government in Bosnia and Herzegovina has existed since 8 March 2000 years. That date is marked as District Day, which celebrates the existence of the District as a socio-political community guided by true European values, which serves as an example of multi-ethnicity and multiculturalism, not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in the region.

The event itself is of a cultural and sports nature and throughout its duration in the month of March, it provides the citizens of Brčko and all visitors with very rich and diverse sports and cultural content, nurturing the culture, tradition and language of all three peoples in the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Considering that the International Women’s Day is also celebrated on the same day, that day is traditionally honored in a special way to all the citizens of the District.
